How to practice visual reasoning questions
Visual reasoning questions usually ask you to find a rule. The trick is to look for the type of change before you look for the answer.
Scan one feature at a time
Start with shape, then count, then position, then rotation, then shading. If you try to see everything at once, the pattern can feel noisy. If you scan one feature at a time, the rule becomes easier to notice.
Watch for alternating rules
Some puzzles do not change in a straight line. They alternate: left-right-left, big-small-big, filled-empty-filled, or clockwise-counterclockwise-clockwise. When a simple rule fails, check for alternating movement.
Use speed after the rule is clear
Good visual reasoning is not just fast clicking. First identify the rule, then choose quickly. That gives you the best combination of accuracy and speed.
